An audience with Sheikh Awadalla Youssef

We were honoured to host Professor Sheikh Awadalla Youssef for a short reminder on Saturday 23rd June 2018.

Sheikh Awadalla Youssef was born in Egypt, and studied most of his life there. He received permission (ijaazat) to teach Tilaawat al-Qur’aan from 16 years of age and went on to graduate and teach at al-Qira’at Institute at al-Azhar University. Sheikh also studied under many illustrious scholars around the world and received permissions (ijaazat) in various Islamic sciences. He has taught in a number of capacities in Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and across the UK.

As well as achieving a PhD in Islamic Studies, Sheikh has also completed an MA in Management in Education and an MA in Religious Education. Sheikh regularly delivers Friday sermons in universities and is actively engaged with UK scholars, MP’s and professionals. Sheikh is also actively involved in Multi-Faith dialogues and community programmes in Manchester.
